Statue Concept
A downloadable concept for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Statue Concept is a short horror game concept that takes inspiration from Dr. Who's Weeping Angels.
Navigate rooms and solve puzzles while being tracked down by an enemy who can only move when you can't see them!
This concept is only just a short demonstration of the gameplay idea. It consists of a tutorial room and two puzzle levels. Expected total playtime is ~10 minutes (and up, depending on how intimidating you find the statues and how difficult you find the puzzles).
There are also cheats included to help you adjust the experience to your own preferences. Cheats range from complete invulnerability to slight speed adjustments. You can also use the cheats to make the game more difficult if you find the normal settings to be too easy.
This concept was created by a single person in the Godot engine.
Note:
This is NOT a complete game. There's lots of things missing that complete the experience such as: real art for textures and meshes, an ending, any kind of lore to find in the world, a variety of sound effects, background music, etc. The focus for this prototype was on the Weeping Angel mechanic and supporting implementation details.
This release was a little bit rushed because I wanted to publish with lead time for Halloween and work on polishing things later. There WILL be bugs and issues at this point in time. For any issues or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me: statue@danieltperry.me
It's a possibility that at some point in the future I may come back to this project to complete the experience. I'm not promising anything concrete, though.
And also at some point in the future, the full source to this concept will be released on GitHub.
